Lessons I Remember from my Childhood Books

Reading through my past, I realize how many lessons I have learned from characters and stories in my favorite children's books.

Thanks to Frog and Toad, I don't put off until tomorrow what I can do today. I ask myself which task takes priority and just do it.

Thanks to Charlotte and her web of words, I value creatures big and small. Unless the creature is a fly buzzing around my nose. Swat!

And I thank Wilbur for believing that he is worth saving.

Thanks to Harold for showing me the power of imagination. My mind has journeyed well beyond my body.

Thanks to Mike Mulligan for proving that Mary Anne can dig as much in a day as one hundred men can dig in a week. I learned strong friendships are based on caring. Not race, religion, or any number of things that divide us.
