Author: Doreen Cronin
Illustrator: Betsy Lewin
Publisher: Atheneum Books for Young Readers
Year: 2008
Word Count: about 500
_____________________

Summary
The annual Corn Maze Festival is coming, and every day the chickens, cows, and Duck help Farmer Brown – with a few bribes – to create a special Statue of Liberty corn maze, and every night Duck works hard recreating his own surprise.

Story Element: Word Play

The Word Play jumps out at readers beginning on page 3.
Words mingle with the pictures –

Cluck, Whack! Moo, Thwack! Thump, Quack!

Using vivid verbs that rhyme adds to the fun of this fast paced story.
Illustrations for this book are rendered in brush and watercolor.

  1. Cute! I love Doreen Cronin and have a special connection with Click Clack Moo, as I have a flock of typing ducks myself. I even blogged about them! https://beinglauraboffa.wordpress.com/2014/07/09/in-the-words-of-doreen-cronin-clickety-clack-quack/

    1. Duck creates his own brand of mischief - as usual. He secretly redesigns the Statue of Liberty corn maze with a Duck Head. :)
